How to Clean(unclog) Vacuum Hose

At some point in your vacuum cleaning sessions, your vacuum cleaner might lose its suction power. This does not mean you will have to wait for it to perform any better if you do nothing. The first thing that you should suspect I a clog in the Vacuum’s hose. The clog can be on the main hose or the lower house. Once the clog is taken care of, then your vacuum cleaner will execute its full power.

This is the best guide for you to unclog our vacuum hose with greater simplicity and convenience. The unclogging procedure has been narrowed into three vital steps;

Step 1: Pull the Hose off of your Vacuum

If you look at your vacuum cleaner very well, there is an exterior hose that connects the roller on the bottom to the tank or bag. They gently pull the end of the hose out from the base and separate it from the main body. If you experience a situation where the hose screws on, you will have to unscrew it before you try pulling it off the machine. Once the hose is out, set it on a flat surface. Remember;

Before you start any maintenance procedure on the vacuum cleaner, ensure the machine is unplugged to prevent any risk of shock.

Step 2: Force any clogs out and pour baking soda and vinegar to eliminate any build up

Grab the end of a broomstick, fee it through the hose, and slowly push the stick in so as not to puncture the hose. If the clog in your hose is large, the broomstick will force it out of the hose. After removing the clog, take your hose to the sink and pour a half-cup (115 g) of baking soda into the hose. Shake the hose for the baking soda to coat the entire interior part of the hose. Pour a half-cup (120ml) of white vinegar slowly into the hose and allow the baking soda and vinegar to bubble inside the hose. This will take place for two-three minutes for the build-up to disintegrate. Alternatively, hot water can be used if you do not have baking soda and vinegar.

Step 3: Rinse and Hang the Hose to dry before reattaching it

Turn on the tap with the hottest water that you can handle and run the water through the hose to wash off the baking soda and vinegar remaining in the hose. Ensure you pass the water through both ends of the pipe for the hose to be completely clean. If you are not able to direct your sink into the hose, then try soaking the hose in a sink full of water; after rinsing, set the hose over the edge of our sink and position it to point to the floor. Let the hose dry for at least one hour, and you can now attach it back to the machine.

Always remember not to connect the vacuum hose while it is still wet since you may accidentally get a shock.
