Shark Rocket DeluxePro Vacuum is one of Shark's most affordable upright vacuums, built to work well with all floor types. While it is primarily made for upright use on large floor surfaces, it can also be converted into a handheld vacuum for upholstery, tight corners and stairs. In any case, the Shark Rocket DeluxePro Vacuum is a pocket-friendly vacuum suitable for those in need of an upright vacuum that can serve a dual purpose.

Product information

Pros

  • At less than 150 dollars, it is, without a doubt, an affordable vacuum cleaner.
  • With its dual-purpose use, purchasing an additional vacuum is never necessary.

Cons

  • It comes with a small dirt compartment that may need frequent emptying when cleaning large floors
  • Some users may find it quite bulky for handheld cleaning purposes

Design of the Shark Rocket DeluxePro Vacuum

Essentially, this Shark model is built for convertible use for stick and handheld use. You can use the central suction technology and the floor head for portable upright use. On the other hand, you can also convert the central suction system to an extended wand while detaching the head for a more flexible handheld cleaning activity.

The Shark Rocket DeluxePro Vacuum is a sleek design in terms of structural build. Its portable vacuum head gives the impression of a lightweight and simple layout. Since the larger parts of the vacuum are closer to the handle, the control and maneuverability are much easier to regulate.

Features

  • Power and Control Button
  • Brush roll head
  • Dirt compartment
  • Upright Wand

Cleaning Technique

The Shark Rocket DeluxePro Vacuum conducts its cleaning by combining the suction power of its motor and the speed of its brush roll to suck up debris on all surface categories. This vacuum type from Shark has a different cleaning mode for various floor types. While there is a cleaning style for low-floor turfs like tiled, hardwood and low pile carpets, there is a separate cleaning mode for thick rugs and high pile carpets.

Thanks to its high maneuverability, the Shark Rocket DeluxePro Vacuum is easy to manipulate around the home. The vacuum allows freedom for fast vacuuming if you need a quick clean and slow-paced vacuuming for deeper cleaning into rugs or carpets.

Size and Dimensions

The Shark Rocket DeluxePro Vacuum is around 48 inches tall and weighs approximately 10 pounds. The Shark Rocket DeluxePro Vacuum's floor head is designed to make it fit for cleaning the underside of furniture or couches.

The product is packed with a wall-mounted hook to allow hanging up the Shark vacuum, thereby saving up more floor space. However, considering the manner of its build, it is not exactly possible to store the vacuum in an upright position. So, hanging it up the wall becomes much more convenient than keeping it on its side.

Accessories and Parts of the Shark Rocket DeluxePro Vacuum

You can find the following add-ons and attachments in your Shark DeluxePro:

  • Accessories storage bad
  • Dirt Compartment
  • Dusting Brush
  • Dust-Away Hardfloor filter
  • Motorised brush tool
  • Upright wand
  • Upholstery tool
  • Crevice tool
  • Roller brush head
  • Handheld

The cluster of accessories in this shark model package makes the vacuum a different breed from many shark products and, by extension, many other upright vacuum brands' models. While it is impossible to store all accessories around the vacuum, there is a large accessory bag that allows you to keep all assortment of parts in a single place.

Cleaning Performance

We carried out the following cleaning tests to confirm the level of efficiency of the Shark Rocket DeluxePro Vacuum on different kinds of surfaces and different waste piles. We looked at hardwood floors, low-pile carpets and high-pile carpets for these tests. We carried out various tryouts on cereals, sugar, kitty litter and rice to confirm how much the vacuum could deliver on its hype.

We must add that each of the debris types was spread out on an assessment alley. Thereupon spreading each of the debris categories, we conducted the test by making forward and backward passes over the debris.

  • Hardwood Floor

On the hardwood floor, the Shark Rocket DeluxePro performed an amazing cleaning job. It had no issue sucking up most sugar grains, kitty litter and rice. Although it was able to suck up the cereals, it could not record the same level of success on it as the other debris types. During the early stage of the clean test on cereals, the Shark Rocket DeluxePro Vacuum could only push the grains down the test path without sucking them up. However, it later appeared to break the grains into smaller particles to absorb them easily. Hence, you may have to make a few additional passes on cereals to enjoy a complete cleaning.

  • Low-Pile Carpet

Like the hardwood floor, the Shark Rocket DeluxePro performed well on the low carpet. However, while it recorded almost a flawless performance on sucking up sugar on hard floors, the vacuum cleaner could not register as much accomplishment on the low-pile carpet, which means a few more passes may be necessary to clean up sugar entirely. While it requires a few more passes to break and absorb cereal wastes on the hardwood floors, it will need more than just a few to get cereals out of a low-pile carpet. Overall the performance on bigger debris like cereals may not deliver anything close to the desired result.

  • High-Pile Carpet

On the high-pile carpet, the performance of the Shark Rocket DeluxePro on rice is pretty decent and will require a couple of repeated steps to clean out sugar and kitty litter. On the cereals, the Shark Rocket DeluxePro gave the impression that it could also suck up the grains after breaking them into smaller units. Upon detaching the dirt compartment, however, we discovered that it had only sucked up less than 10% of the total grains. Curious about where the rest of the grains had gone, we detached the hose from the vacuum head only to discover that the hose had been clogged with cereals. Hence, you may always need to unclog your vacuum hose if you need to work on a high pile of grains.

  • Dependability and Usability
  • Making use of the Shark Rocket DeluxePro Vacuum is relatively convenient. The vacuum comes with a toggle switch attached to the head of the vacuum that allows you to switch between the "l" mode for bare floor and low pile carpet cleaning and the "ll" mode for cleaning high-pile rugs and carpets.

Additionally, you can easily detach the Shark Rocket DeluxePro Vacuum filter for dry cleaning and reuse or monthly replacement. You will also find the dirt compartment release point under the vacuum handle to allow you easily detach the dirt cup for proper disposal of its contents.

The Shark Rocket DeluxePro comes with two major release locations, which allow users to convert the vacuum into various cleaning modes. Unfastening the wand at the handle will enable you to affix the mini brush roller, crevice tool, dusting brush, mini brush roller or upholstery tool for more convenient handheld use. Alternatively, you can leave the wand fixed to the handheld point while using the foot release to fasten and unfasten the different heads.

Assembling the Shark Rocket DeluxePro Vacuum for use is no hassle at all. All the accessories come in the box with the important parts already pre-installed on the vacuum cleaner. All that is expected of you is to plug it into the electric source and begin using it immediately. Nonetheless, the vacuum comes in upright mode, so you may need to detach the wand for handheld use.

  • Noise Level and Maintenance
  • Upon testing the noise level of the Shark Rocket DeluxePro using our standard noise test program, we discovered that the Shark Rocket DeluxePro emits around 61 decibels of noise which is lower than most upright vacuums on the market.

On maintenance: while vacuum cleaners may serve as the house cleaning machine, you should know that they require regular care for longer use. As far as the Shark Rocket DeluxePro is concerned, the spinning brush may be caught in human and pet hairs, hence, reducing the suction efficiency. While cleaning out the brush may solve the problem, we still recommend that you change the brush at least once every three months.

Shark suggests that the filter of the Rocket DeluxePro Vacuum be replaced once every month. We believe doing this will ensure less clogging and allow people who suffer from allergies to be less prone to reactions.
