A common problem with robotic vacuums is that they tend to bump into different things around your home like furniture. Constant bumping into obstacles can damage the robot or even worse, your property. But this wouldn't be a problem for you because the

This full suite of sensors allows the robot to adapt to the changes in each room. The robot also has an anti-cliff detection that prevents it from falling from high thresholds.

Review Of The iRobot® Roomba® 650 Vacuum Cleaning Robot

The main control of the vacuum is the center button which is labeled as the Clean button. The button is surrounded by two other buttons used to command the robot to go back to the dock (the robot can do this after cleaning), the spot clean button allows the robot to clean a particular spot.

The center button is also surrounded by five other buttons (labeled day, hour, minute, schedule, and clock), which you use to schedule the robot to clean.

Roomba 650 cleans through dirt detection so as long as there's still dirt on your floor, the vacuum doesn't move past it. Although because the robot moves very quickly it could miss a spot. It has three cleaning modes which allow it to clean your floors.

You can place the virtual wall barrier (which consists of two C-cell batteries) to keep the robot from going beyond the area you intend to clean. You don't need to place it around your stairs because the robot has sensors that allow it to know the height of a threshold. Compared to other vacuums, the Roomba 650 doesn't make a lot of noise while cleaning.

If the robot somehow can't make its way to where you want to clean, you can easily pick it up by the handle sitting at the top of the vacuum. Underneath the vacuum is where the spinning brush is located, the dustbin, and the treaded tires which allows the robot to move around.

The Roomba 650 is equipped with a 3,000mAh battery that lasts for 60 minutes or more, after which it makes its way back to the charging dock. When the device is charging, the center button shows yellow. It changes to green when the robot is ready to go.

When it comes to cleaning, iRobot Roomba 650 is suitable for any kind of floor. If you have more than one type of floor surface, the robot can sense it and automatically adjust its height in such a way that it gets close enough to suck in any type of dirt. The device makes use of HEPA filters and you can easily dispose of the bin when it is full.

FAQs

What do I replace my Roomba 650's battery with?

You can go to the manufacturer's store to find a replacement battery. The new generation XLife extended battery life by iRobot is compatible with the Roomba 600 series.

After the robot is done cleaning, does it just sit in a spot?

If the robot still has power, it will stop after cleaning, and if it has access to the docking station, it docks itself there. But perhaps if you have the door to the room closed, the robot will sit in a spot until you take it a few feet away from the docking station and press the dock button.

Can the vacuum clean the food my kids pour on the floor?

Yes, it can as long as it is not liquid food.

Conclusion

The iRobot Roomba 650 robotic vacuum cleaner is excellent but one feature that would have made it even better is if it had an app or remote control to assist people who have back problems from having to pick up the vacuum or bend every time they had to make commands.
