Miele Cordless Handheld Stick Vacuum, Pet Hair Cleaners for Hardwood Floors (2022 Review)
What is Miele Cordless Stick Vacuum?
The Miele Cordless Stick Vacuum looks similar to a traditional stick vacuum at first glance, but it actually has two additional configurations that the traditional stick vacuums don’t have. This gives customers more usage options and adds to the versatility of the Miele vacuum.
It also has a unique design that may not be common in stick vacuums. This design being the placement of its motor. In other brands, the motor is usually found near the handle but with the Miele cordless stick vacuum, you can find it closer to the base.
The additional configurations it offers to its users are:
- Stick vacuum mode, with the dustbin and motor moved closer to the handle
- Handheld configuration
With no cord, the Miele stick vacuum allows for maximum flexibility. It also has a high-capacity rechargeable battery that lets you clean larger areas in your home without being interrupted or having to worry about the battery dying too soon. This design is a great combination of outstanding suction power and fast cleaning.
Why Choose Miele Cordless Stick Vacuum?
There are several reasons why a Miele cordless stick vacuum is worth purchasing. First off, it can vacuum hard floors and carpets well. It’s especially useful if you have pets who shed hair a lot often. You won’t have to worry about unintentionally leaving dirt, debris, dander and pet hair lying around when you’re cleaning the house.
Its upright configuration also makes it easy to use as it doesn’t strain your arm or wrist. Not to mention, it has a twist-to-open mechanism that makes the dustbin a lot easier to empty.
The Miele cordless stick vacuum also has above-average suction and airflow that allows you to clean the house more efficiently. Not to mention, it has a detachable battery and fingertip controls that make it easier to toggle the different power settings.
This stick vacuum is just overall a very convenient device to have in your home.

Review of Miele Triflex HX1 Cat & Dog
Pros
- Flexible configurations
- Barely makes any noise compared to other cordless vacuums
- Swappable battery
- Long battery life
- Comes with an internal light to illuminate dust and debris
- HEPA filtration
- Has an additional handheld brush for pet owners
Cons
- Can be a bit more expensive
- Dust bin is relatively smaller
- Heavy when switched to handheld mode
Key Features
- Floor-sensing cleaner head –it can detect the surface that it’s cleaning on and can automatically adjust the speed of its brush bar, with a deeper clean setting for carpets
- LED lights –its floorhead has an inbuilt light that allows you to spot any debris, dust, dander or pet hair hidden in the shadows. This allows you to do a better job at cleaning, where you can actually target the bits of dirt instead of just aimlessly moving the vacuum back and forth
This model of the Miele cordless handheld vacuum is able to provide impressive cleaning performance. It has powerful suction regardless of the surface it’s on and which configuration you chose for it.
A simple slide of its switch allows you to choose from low, medium, or high suction settings. The lowest setting is already strong enough, but a lot of people prefer the medium setting during their regular cleaning. The highest setting, on the other hand, offers a significant boost at the expense of battery life. It’s great for removing stubborn dirt.
One thing that the two highest settings do offer that isn’t available at low mode is the automatic adjustment of the brush bar rotation speed depending on the type of floor. This way you can deep clean your carpets without worrying about sending any debris flying when you’re cleaning hardwood floors.
A lot of people also prefer having the power unit placed at the lower part as it somehow makes the suction a bit stronger.
Review of Miele Triflex HX1 Pro
Pros
- Design offers flexibility
- Long battery life
- Has two detachable batteries
- Has two additional cleaning attachments
- Built-in LED lights for illumination
- Can sense floor surfaces and make necessary adjustments
- Swappable batteries that allows two hours of run-time
Cons
- Can cost a lot more
- Can be heavy
- Smaller dust bin
- Emptying the bin can be a bit of a hassle
Key Features
- Front LED spotlight on the main brush –just like the previously mentioned model, the Miele Triflex HX1 Pro also features a built-in LED light that makes sucking up any dirt and debris found in the shadows a lot easier
- Features a ‘backbar’ –this allows the vacuum to catch large particles that the roller might accidentally shoot behind the vacuum. It’s handy for cleaning up after things like spilled cereal
- Extra wide roller –most rollers on stick vacuums are around 7 to 9 inches but this model features an 11-inch roller, allowing it to cover more ground and saving you from having to vacuum back and forth over debris
- Floor-sensing electrobrush –the electrobrush on its main brush head can detect the floor surface and automatically adjusts to an optimal height. You’ll know this is happening because you’ll hear a slight sound coming from the vacuum when you move from the bare floor to a carpet and vice versa
The Miele Triflex HX1 Pro is great for all floor types. The Miele Vortex Technology allows it to have incredible suction power. Just like the other models, it has three suction settings. The lowest power mode allows you to use it a lot longer while the high mode greatly sacrifices battery life in exchange for power. This should only be saved for stubborn dirt.
Similar to the Cat & Dog model, the medium and high settings activate its adaptive technology, allowing the vacuum to detect the type of floor surface and adjust the speed and height of the brush bar accordingly. This is handy for preventing dirt and debris from scattering on hardwood floors.
It’s especially brilliant for deep cleaning carpets. The brush can dig deeper into the carpet fibres removing any dirt or dust that you would have easily missed, while its built-in lights illuminate everything allowing you to make sure that you covered every spot.
The main floorhead also does a brilliant job at sucking up any pet hair found on hardwood floors and carpets. Most of the hair clumps are sucked into the vacuum in a single pass, without you having to move around back and forth. Although, there are times when the hair gets caught by the canister and would need to be removed by hand.
But, unlike the Cat & Dog model, the Miele Triflex HX1 Pro doesn’t come with a pet turbo tool. When cleaning pet hair or dander found on stairs or sofas, you would have to use a non-motorized upholstery tool.
